Commission a Textile Portrait

Some memories deserve more than a photograph.

A photograph captures a moment. A textile artwork allows you to live with it.

Using carefully selected fabrics, layered textiles and hand embroidery, I transform your cherished photograph into a one-of-a-kind piece of art.  Whether it is a wedding, a childhood memory, a beloved pet, a family portrait or someone you miss, each commission is created to become a lasting heirloom; a piece of art that carries your story.

No two works are ever alike.

The process

Creating a commissioned artwork is a collaborative and personal process.

1. Share your story
Send me your favourite photograph together with a few words about why it is meaningful to you.

2. We discuss the artwork
Together we'll decide on the size, composition, framing options, delivery time and price.

3. Creation
Each artwork is entirely handmade in my studio using vintage and contemporary textiles, embroidery and hand stitching.

4. A piece to treasure
Several weeks later your memory returns as a unique textile artwork, ready to become part of your home.

Sizes

Each artwork is made to order and can be created in almost any size, from intimate miniatures to large statement pieces.

Pricing

As every artwork is unique, prices depend on the size and complexity of the image.

Commissions generally start at €550. See below for examples.

Timing

Current delivery time is approximately 4–6 weeks, depending on the size and my commission schedule.

Please note

Each artwork is made exclusively for one client and requires many hours of handwork. Because of this, full payment is requested before work begins. Once a commission has been confirmed, it cannot be cancelled or returned.

Portrait 20x20

An intimate textile portrait of one or two people, created from a favourite photograph using carefully selected fabrics, appliqué and embroidery.

Example price: €550
Including VAT and a handmade wooden box frame.

Prices may vary depending on the composition and level of detail.

EXAMPLE II

30x40

A richly detailed family portrait based on a special photograph, created using carefully selected fabrics, appliqué and embroidery. Personal elements—such as a piece of fabric from the wedding dress—can be incorporated into the artwork to make it even more meaningful.

Example price: €750
Including VAT and a handmade wooden box frame.

Prices may vary depending on the number of people, composition and level of detail.

EXAMPLE III

100x100cm

For a large statement piece of 100 × 100 cm, prices start at €2250 for one or two people. Additional figures generally add around €150 each. The final price depends on the composition, level of detail and chosen photograph. All prices include VAT and a wooden box frame, excl shipping
